Local Knowledge. Reliable Craftsmanship.

MEET THE OWNER

Douglas Blasius

Douglas Blasius is a lifelong Midcoast Maine native and licensed mariner with deep personal and professional roots along Maine’s working waterfront. Growing up lobstering out of Friendship Harbor, Douglas gained hands-on seamanship skills, tide and weather awareness, and an intimate understanding of coastal environments from a young age. His commercial fishing background instilled a disciplined work ethic, equipment familiarity, and strong maritime problem-solving abilities.

Douglas holds an engineering degree from Maine Maritime Academy, where he developed formal training in marine operations, navigation, maritime safety, and vessel systems. His combination of academic foundation and real-world marine experience allows him to bridge traditional working-waterfront knowledge with modern operational standards.

Douglas has spent his career working on and around the water, operating vessels, managing marine projects, and developing long-standing relationships within the Midcoast maritime and trades community. His ability to understand tidal patterns, bottom compositions, equipment mechanics, marine weather behavior, and shoreline structural needs uniquely positions him to lead a specialty marine construction operation.
